PE Holdings

PE Holdings Sdn Bhd was formed in 2007 with the vision of preparing the next generation for the future. It started from Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd, a civil engineering and general construction company founded in 1977. With firm family values and a humble beginning, PE Holdings started by transforming the shopping landscape in Kuching with the construction and management of tHe Spring Shopping Mall.

Today, PE Holdings oversees a conglomerate of multi award winning companies in Kuching, Bintulu and Penang, with its core interest in shopping mall management, property development, IT and food and beverage. PE Holdings is also committed to aligning our corporate practices and strategies with the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) targets, to ensure that there is a future for the next generation.

1977 - 1978

Foundation

7th November 1977

Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd, incorporated on 7th November 1977, has built a stellar reputation as one of Sarawak's most reliable construction companies. With contracts exceeding RM1.3 billion, it has significantly contributed to the region's development across various sectors.

1983

Richplex

1983

Richplex was established to further expand construction services and strengthen the company’s position in the region's development.

2003

Advance Geotechnical Engineering

2003

Invested in advanced geotechnical engineering solutions to drive technological development in the construction industry.

2004

CMP Development Formed

2004

Established CMP Development to diversify into more areas of real estate development.

2007

PE Holdings Restructuring

2007

The group restructured under the umbrella of PE Holdings, expanding its reach across multiple sectors, including engineering and construction.

2008

Spring Kuching Grand Opening

January 10, 2008

The Spring Shopping Mall in Kuching, Sarawak, opened, marking a major milestone in retail development in the region.

2012

Benlong Realty

2012

Formed Benlong Realty to oversee the development of the Bintulu Mall project.

2013 - 2015

PE Penang Land, Development, and Hospitality

2013 - 2015

Focused on land development and hospitality expansion in Penang, further diversifying into the Malaysian property market.

2015

The Spring Achieves ISO Certification

2015

The Spring became the first shopping mall in Sarawak to achieve ISO 9001 certification, highlighting its commitment to quality.

2016

Design Village Opened

November 23, 2016

Design Village, Malaysia’s largest outlet mall, opened in Penang, attracting major international brands and boosting regional tourism.

Stabilised Pavements

2018

Established a road technology company, Stabilised Pavements, to offer cutting-edge solutions for infrastructure development.

Spring Bintulu Kuching Opened

December 28, 2018

The Spring Bintulu is a shopping mall in Bintulu, Bintulu Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. Located at Jalan Tun Abdul Razak.

PE Digital and PE Agencies Formed

2019

Launched PE Digital to provide digital solutions and PE Agencies to offer insurance services.

2021

Anggun Residences Launch

2021

Launched Anggun Residences, an elegant and sophisticated high-rise residential development.

Pansar Acquires Perbena Emas

April 13, 2021

Pansar completed its acquisition of Perbena Emas, marking a significant entry into the construction industry.

James Ling Chung

James Ling Chung

CEO / Founder

Background

James Ling Chung was born and raised in Sibu, Sarawak. He then went to New Zealand on the Colombo plan to finish his studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Canterbury. Upon completion of his studies, James worked in Indonesia and Singapore before setting up home in Kuching, Sarawak. He started Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd in 1977 as a civil engineering consultancy firm and grew it to one of the largest construction companies in Kuching today
Datuk Jason Tai Hee

Background

Datuk Jason Tai Hee was educated in Malaysia and United Kingdom, earning his Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computer Information Systems Design from Kingston University, London in 1987. He has been the Managing Director of Pansar since 2010 and has helped transform the company from a trading house to the total solutions provider it is now.

Background

Helen Teng has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, Canada and an MBA in Business Law from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. She has also completed her Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from ICM, United Kingdom. She joined Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd in 1982 and has over 40 years of experience in the field of construction.

Background

Datin Christine graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting. After completing her degree, she returned to Kuching and was instrumental in the successful sales of CMP Development’s Golden Heights housing project, thanks to her diligence and hard work.
Ronald Ling Ing Han

Ronald Ling Ing Han

Background

Ronald Ling is a graduate of Unitec Institute of Technology, Auckland, New Zealand, with a Bachelor of Construction (Construction Economics). Ronald holds a Marketing Manager’s Certificate from PPK and a Certificate in Construction Management from Columbia University. He is also a member of the Entrepreneur’s Organization Malaysia. With over 20 years of work experience in marketing, property development, F&B management and construction, Ronald brings to board his expertise in Business Development and Administration, Culture implementation and people coaching and leadership.
David Tai Wei

David Tai Wei

Chief Operating Officer

Background

David Tai is a Law graduate from University of Oxford, United Kingdom. Currently, he is the Chief Operating Officer at Pansar Berhad. He sits on the board of 15 different companies and joins PE Holdings Sdn Bhd in 2021 as the newest board member in the team.
